The Sunny Coast is a beautiful place to get married!
Whether you’re a Sunshine Coast local, or visiting for a destination wedding, you can’t go wrong – just pick a vibe and go!
What many people don’t know is that there are so many beautiful parts to the Sunshine Coast to have both your ceremony and reception. They’re all different, but they all make a perfect backdrop to a fairytale love story.
Plus, the Sunshine Coast is a beautiful and in places secluded spot for some alone time after your wedding – aka the honeymoon! So you could pretty much say that she Sunny Coast has it all.
If you’re organising or even thinking about planning a special day on the Sunshine Coast then read on – we’ve got some handy information below. It’s great to have a good range of ideas to help you plan your wedding even if you are employing a wedding planner. After all, its YOUR special day!
Choose from the golden beaches of a Noosa wedding, the luscious green views of Maleny Weddings, Montville, and the iconic Glasshouse Mountains. Plus, there are lots of other beach suburbs, like Caloundra and extra unique Rainbow Beach.
Honestly, it’s hard to go wrong! Picking is probably the hardest part. It might be hard to secure some availability, too, so be sure to book well ahead of your big day.
Why not say “I do!” on the beach? The Sunshine Coast has an average of 261 sunny days per year. When you combine this with endless beautiful beaches then you have a recipe for a delightfully special day!
The sea and sand always make for a beautiful backdrop, too, as long as the conditions are nice. Be mindful that wind, sun, sand and rain can be very hard to get away from on the beach. But the risk is certainly worth it. And who doesn’t like a bit of excitement, anyway!
Choose from hot spots like Caloundra, the very popular Noosa Beach, Coolum, or if you’re willing to travel there is the rather unique like Rainbow Beach.
The Sunshine Coast is a tranquil and relaxing place to get married on the beach in comparison to the Gold Coast. There are lots of beautiful, calm and relatively quiet beaches to choose from.
Noosa even has a national park very close to town which would be a great spot for a wedding ceremony.
Another popular wedding venue is the Sunshine Beach Surf Life Saving Club. We’ve heard this hot spot offers a great combination of million dollar views, a very functional function room, a big blue ceremony backdrop, and all with budget-friendly value.
One secret that is not so well kept is Sails, a chic and popular establishment on the Noosa beachfront. With a private grassed patio, panoramic views over the beach and out to sea, a well-stocked wine bar, and gorgeous food, there’s not much else you need except to have a good time!
If you want something truly unique wedding venue for your Sunshine Coast wedding, then you simply can’t go past Rainbow Beach.
It’s a little bit further if you’re travelling to the area for a destination wedding, or even if you’re a SunCoast local, but Rainbow Beach is definitely worth the travel!
The spectacular and rugged sand cliffs make for a gorgeous backdrop that is hard to find anywhere else in this part of Australia. The setting is very unique and so would your photos be.
Plus, there are some gorgeous wedding reception venues nearby – such as this beautiful plantation-styled resort.
Saying that the Sunshine Coast Hinterland is a beautiful place would be an understatement!
If you want a scenic backdrop made up of rustic mountains, lush green forests, beautifully manicured gardens, and golden sunsets, then you’re going to want to get married here.
We’re confident in saying that a Sunshine Coast Hinterland wedding can easily be held in some of the most beautiful scenery Queensland has to offer. This is where you want to go if you are looking for garden wedding venues!
There are also quite a few unique wedding options that mix country wedding venue vibes with a luxury feel to create something out of the norm.
The Glasshouse Mountains offer some gorgeous locations, from Beerwah to the super popular Maleny. Maleny is a cute little town, sort of like Tamborine Mountain with the same tucked away charm.
You can choose from the Maleny Botanic Gardens, which are gorgeously kept and manicured, a winery, or one of the many wedding venues dotted throughout the hills.
If you’re not looking to hire a commercial wedding venue, there is no shortage of nice properties throughout the area.
Montville and Maleny wedding venues are also some of the best private property wedding venues Sunshine Coast has to offer.
There are also lots of beach house wedding venues that are available for hire. Check the usual places, or just do a quick search. Just be sure to book early!
We love the idea of a pop-up wedding – especially in nature. We’ll be writing more on this one soon together with our new Elopements Packages.
Well, where to start?! The whole place is one big beautiful area that has many nice parts to spend time in. If you want to see some beautiful sights after getting hitched then read on!
If you’re getting married on the beach at Noosa or Sunshine Beach, why not head up to the hills after? There are plenty of beautiful mountain retreats in Maleny, Montville and the Glasshouse Mountains.
One amazing opportunity that’s not too far is visiting the Great Barrier Reef. The Reef is a world heritage listed area and is one of Australia’s most unique and special natural attractions.
Sounds good? Just take a short plane ride from Brisbane to Hamilton Island and you’re in another sunny world. With elevated sea views, beautiful secluded beaches, snorkelling, luxury amenities, and the island life, what more is there to want?
If you’re after a luxury accommodation on Hamilton Island then you can’t go past Qualia – voted best in the world and oceania for it’s outstanding location, service and ability to maximise your relaxation.
If you are looking for someone to photograph your wedding anywhere on the Sunshine Coast then then guess what? We’d love to attend your special day.
Location is no problem – we love to travel and see new places. We’re actually looking at moving up to the Sunny Coast, too!
We can photograph your pre-wedding activities, wedding arrivals, guests mingle, wedding ceremony, wedding reception, dinner, dancing and bride + groom departure.
Plus we do engagement shoots, elopements, couple shoots, portraiture, fine art photography, film photography and wedding videography.
Our range of wedding photography packages cover most wedding types. But we can also customise them to suit you.
Video is just moving photos! We have several options available for wedding cinematography. Go here to see our options Sunshine Coast Wedding Video.
We work as a team too, meaning we can do both photo and video at the same time or separately – whatever best suits your event.
We live and work on the Gold Coast and in Brisbane.
Depending on where you are, the Sunny Coast is only 2-3 hours of driving away from the Gold Coast and only 1-2 hours away from Brisbane. So attending Sunshine Coast weddings is only a nice drive away.
In case you’re wondering – we don’t charge for travel if your event is within 2 hours of the GC. Any further and we might have to sleep over depending on how long you need us for.
We love to explore and see new parts of Australia, so we’ll pretty much always be keen to attend your special day if we are free.
We are happy to photograph anywhere you need us around Australia, as well as any other destination wedding locations we’re asked to visit.
That’s a tough one! There’s so many beautiful parts to choose from. We like the smaller size of somewhere like Noosa, which feels a lot more tropical and intimate.
Even though we love Maleny we’d probably choose Noosa just for the ease of having a ceremony with such a beautiful backdrop followed by the many available venues for the reception. Plus guests can stay overnight and enjoy the beach the next day.
Having said that – its hard to pass up the beauty of such a lush, green and natural area. The views from Maleny are unbeatable…
We sometimes get asked for more budget friendly options, and we are often able to work something out. Even if it is not with us, we do work with other photographers who are great options for those looking to save money.
Just send us a message with your big day’s details, what you want to have photographed, the time you need, and we’ll organise a quote.
